Printed Tops

A print decides the whole outfit. Get it right and the rest of what you're wearing can be plain — and should be. That's the thinking behind this edit: tops where the print does the talking, on cotton that's comfortable enough to wear all day while it does.

We develop our prints in-house rather than buying whatever the mill is running that season. It's slower, and it means a print you like here isn't hanging on three other racks in the same market. Each one is worked out at scale first — a motif that looks right on paper can overwhelm a shoulder or disappear at the waist — then colour-matched, sampled, and only then cut.

What you'll find in this edit

Floral prints — ditsy all-overs for everyday, larger blooms when you want the top to be the outfit, and botanical line drawings for something quieter.

Block-print motifs — traditional buti, buta and jaal layouts in the colourways they were made for, and in a few they weren't.

Geometric and abstract repeats — stripes, checks, chevrons and irregular repeats for days you want structure instead of softness.

Indian craft-inspired prints — bagru, dabu, ajrakh and kalamkari-style motifs reinterpreted for tops you can wear to work.

Monochrome and tonal prints — print without the commitment, for wardrobes built around neutrals.

Seasonal colour stories — lighter palettes through summer, deeper and warmer through winter, dropped fresh each month.

Print quality is the whole point

Cheap printing fades, bleeds into the seam, or sits stiff on the surface until the fabric stops breathing. We use reactive and pigment printing suited to the cloth, fix the colour properly, and pre-wash so the top you receive is the size it stays. Prints are matched at the seams where the layout demands it. Whites stay white after the first wash instead of picking up the print beside them.

You can wear these through a Delhi summer and they will still look right by October.

Easy to style

Keep the bottom half plain and let the print lead — white or off-white trousers, solid palazzos, straight denim. Pick up one colour from the print in your footwear or earrings and skip everything else. A large-scale floral needs nothing more than that. A small ditsy print will take a solid jacket or shrug over it without a fight.

If you're building a wardrobe, start with one tonal print and one floral. They'll carry more outfits between them than any two solids will.

Care

Turn inside out, cold water, mild detergent. Wash printed pieces separately the first time. Dry in shade — direct sun is what actually fades print, not washing. Press on the reverse. Full instructions are on each product page.
